Crain’s stopped by to chat with us about Selden Standard and how it’s coming along, and they published this lovely post about the project:
New Midtown eatery aims to set the standard for local dining
It would be nice if we knew how to take a decent photograph without squinting. But the cement truck looks pretty bad ass. And how about those new concrete floors? Bitchin, right?
Dan Gilbert’s team announced some new restaurants headed downtown this summer. Among them, our good friends over at Wright & Company. The Detroit News did a nice preview of those spots — but the paper was also kind enough to mention a few other spots opening this year that we’re excited about. Including us:
Gilbert unveils new players to downtown restaurant scene
This is primed to be an amazing year for new restaurants in Detroit, and we’re stoked to be a part of it.
The national food site Eater just published a list of the 50 most anticipated restaurants in the United States for 2014. And we’re on it.
First and foremost, thanks to Eater and to everyone in Detroit who has been supporting us as we’ve started this endeavor. And we promise we’ll do our best to live up to the hype. In fact, we’ll spend the next three days doing some serious cocktail R&D. In all seriousness, though, it’s an honor to be included with the other establishments on that list, and we can’t begin to describe how much we’re looking forward to serving Detroit.
Chef Andy is one of six chefs participating in the already sold-out Young Guns dinner. James Rigato, chef at The Root in White Lake, organized the event, and it looks pretty awesome. Nicole at “Eat It Detroit” interviewed Andy about the dinner, about Selden Standard, and about his take on cooking in general. We’re a little biased, but it’s a nice read.
I guess our first bit of publicity means we’re really official. Check out the details of our project on Curbed Detroit.
